The Tenant

Am I the only one who thinks Roman Polanski might be “innocent”? A dangerous word, meaning without guilt. Roman admitted to the technicalities, but fearing incarceration, fled.

Sweet 16 – we hear that on almost every “nostalgic” 50′s tune; yet if the boy/man is 17, he’s ok; but if he’s 18, he’s suddenly a criminal.

Roman should not be tortured for statutory rape.  That is a very specific and deliberate crime – did she present herself as a ‘woman of consent’-? Did Polanski know she was underage? Quite different from involuntary rape - a truly criminal offense.

At the end of National Lampoon’s Animal House, a guy beds his girl on a football field – then she laughs, “surprise! I’m only 13!”
